Black Mountain Nature Reserve is a 434-hectare protected area on the northern side of Lake Burley Griffin. Black Mountain, a prominent hill 812 metres above sea level topped by a 195-metre tower, dominates the reserve. The reserve has many walking tracks, with views overlooking the bush capital.
